Madison Middle School’s Computer Science Engineering Design (CSEDM) Magnet’s vision is to set the standard for instruction and technology by delivering a personalized education for our students. We provide a rigorous, well-conceived, and pertinent instructional program. We apply 21st century competencies so our students will be ready for the changing workplace that requires "out of the box" thinking, problem solving, collaborating and effective communication skills. We communicate an instructional vision enabled by technology.
The CSEDM mission emphasizes the importance of developing students who are engaged, innovative, and purposeful learners. By fostering a culture of passion, pioneering spirit, and clear purpose, we aim to equip students to become lifelong learners with a strong sense of direction. We focus on creating a dynamic educational environment where teaching and learning are reimagined to help children discover their unique interests, build essential future-ready skills, and achieve personal and academic success. CSEDM aims to empower students with skills for a vigorous, evolving world by creating a supportive environment that champions curiosity, creativity, and confidence in every student.
Our educational goals and objectives align with this vision and we address these goals through weekly advisory Magnet themed activities. Students take part in RethinkEd weekly to build their social emotional learning. Magnet spirit assemblies expose students to Magnet theme related careers. Students engage the vision in practical ways through educational activities and hands-on learning. Students take field trips to the Getty to explore design and architecture and the Society of Civil Engineers LA to see how engineers work to make a safer, more functional city. Students participate in a career day learning about computer science engineering design careers. By immersing students in real-world experiences related to our theme, we work to provide our students to prepare for their successful future, aligning perfectly with the school's vision.
